November is lung cancer awareness month, and below are some of the great ways to get involved and show your support! 


Greensboro LUNGe Forward Run, Walk & RallyParticipate in the 2016 Greensboro LUNGe Forward Run, Walk & Rally held on Saturday, November 12.  Register, join a team or donate to help make a difference for all those affected by lung cancer across North Carolina.  There will be family friendly entertainment and lung cancer survivors are free!


Lung Cancer Initiative of North CarolinaJoin us at one of our free Expert Speaker Series events in November.  Two will be held in Raleigh and one in Asheville.  There will also be an opportunity to join online or in person for our partnership with Cancer Grace and UNC Lineberger's: Not Your Father's Squamous Cell Lung Cancer. 



Hockey Fights Cancer Night with Carolina HurricanesHockey Fights Cancer Night is Sunday, November 6th as the Carolina Hurricanes take on the New Jersey Devils, 6:00 PM at the PNC Arena.  The Carolina Hurricanes have teamed up with Lung Cancer Initiative of North Carolina to help in the fight to achieve a world without  lung cancer.  A portion of every ticket purchased through this offer will be donated directly to Lung Cancer Initiative of NC in the fight against cancer.  


Chris DraftVidant Cancer Care is hosting their 10th annual Lung Cancer Awareness Dinner with former NFL player Chris Draft as their keynote speaker.  Chris Draft lost his young wife to lung cancer and you won't want to miss his inspiring story.



Giving Tuesday is November 29thGiving Tuesday is on November 29th this year and your generous donation helps to make a difference in lung cancer through research, education, access and awareness.  Join the world on this generous day by making a donation.  Also, feel free to take a look at how your money is spent by clicking here.



Lung Cancer Awareness MonthShare your story of how lung cancer has affected you or a loved one on the Lung Cancer Awareness Month site as many lung cancer organizations come together to bring awareness to this disease.  Don't forget to mention Lung Cancer Initiative of North Carolina.  We also encourage you to share your story with your local newspaper, TV or radio station.



Wear a White Ribbon wherever you go and tell people what it's for.  Ask friends and family - anyone you can think of - to wear one as well.  Ribbons are available at the Lung Cancer Initiative office for free.  Or you can make your own.





I Wear White after Labor Day for Lung Cancer - Print this sign and take a photo of yourself in white holding it.  Then post it to our Facebook page, Twitter, etc. and tell people why you Wear White After Labor Day.
