The Golf Tournament this year will be played using tee times starting on the 1st and 10th tees. We expect tee times to start at 9:00 a.m. and go until 11:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. based on a field of 18 (4-somes). Keep in mind tee times could go longer, depending on the number of teams signed up. Each team entered will be given a tee time and each team will be expected to arrive in time to check in with the starter, warm up on driving range as well as putting and chipping on the practice green.

For teams that want to request a specific time, it will be honored as best as possible.

Players, please keep your entire day open for this event, since it is based on tee times and not a shotgun start.

There is no day-of registration, so all teams will be required to pay online or by mail. The deadline to register for the tournament will be October 7. An e-mail address for each player is requested to receive communications. Each team should assign a team captain to make sure that each of the team’s players are on time and receive communications.

Information Regarding Safety During COVID-19

Lung Cancer Initiative cares about the health and safety of all of our constituents.  We are continuing to closely monitor guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services in maintaining safe operations.  All tournament participants will be required to sign a waiver prior to attending the event and to wear a face covering while attending.  Participants are encouraged to avoid face coverings with valves. Participants should not attend if they have experienced any COVID-19 symptoms, been exposed to anyone with symptoms or tested positive within 14 days of the tournament. Additional safety precautions will be implemented throughout the tournament including hand hygiene stations prominently located at tournament entrances and exits. We encourage all participants to follow preventative practices and will be sharing more safety updates prior to the tournament.

Lochmere has 40 carts that have partitions for social distancing. For players that are family or friends and do not feel they need the partition to ride together, that can be requested as well. For players that request to ride alone, that request will be honored if possible, but may be limited.

LCI will contact the team captain if their team won a prize or if a member of their group won a skills contest. We will work with winning teams on an individual basis to determine the best way to deliver the prizes.   There will be a player’s bag on the cart for each player. It will include two bottles of water, a lunch ticket, a raffle ticket, a voucher for two mulligans on the course, and other assorted snacks and golf items.

Depending on the tee time of each team, it will be up to the player when they want to pick up their box lunch (at the beginning of the round, at the turn or after they play) at the club house grill. Please present your lunch ticket to pick it up. We will make sure the box lunches will be provided within a time frame that will work for each individual player.

A list of the individual skills contests will also be provided on each players cart so that each player will know what holes they are on and what the prizes are. Players that win a skills contest will be notified by email and finding out what the best way is to get their prize to them.

There will be a designated area for all raffle items. The LCI staff will draw each raffle item ticket. The raffle will take place after play starts and the tournament field is established. Each player should check at the turn or when play is completed to see if they won a raffle item. The tournament committee will e-mail the tournament results and skills contest winners to all players.

Thank you to each team supporting our cause in a difficult year. The pandemic has changed the way we are living our daily lives and interacting, but it has not stopped cancer! We are committed to continuing to fight for each cancer patient in a safe and different manner this year. Thanks for your understanding and continued support.
