Lung cancer is the number one cause of cancer death in women. It kills more women each year than breast, cervical and ovarian cancers combined. Unfortunately lung cancer is not often considered a women’s cancer despite the fact that an estimated 111,710 women in the US will be diagnosed with the disease in 2019. Please join us to learn how you can help to raise awareness and provide support to the women who are battling this disease so they know that they are not alone!
• Learn how lung cancer affects women of all races, ages and backgrounds
• Discuss lung cancer risk factors, symptoms and treatment options
• Celebrate women who have been touched by lung cancer
The following will be speaking at this Power Up Series:
Jennifer Garst, MD, Duke Cancer Institute
Emily Ray, MD, MPH, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Shirley Sulick, Lung Cancer Survivor
The event is free and open to the public, but we do ask that you register by May 7. Food will be provided.
