“Dr. Mileham has already been such an avid supporter of our organization and the lung cancer community,” said Amy Cipau, president of LCI. “She has been an important part of our Scientific Advisory Committee, which guides our research programs, and we look forward to her leadership as we develop strategies to reach more patients, including those in Mecklenburg County and surrounding areas.”

She received her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and completed her fellowship and residency at Vanderbilt University. In addition to being a published author and presenter on the topic of thoracic medical oncology, she serves as the principal investigator for both sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical research trials.

Through ASCO, she has been engaged in broadening eligibility criteria and adverse event reporting in clinical trials, as well as evaluating trends in lung cancer biomarker testing and outcomes in cancer patients with COVID-19 infections.
“This is an incredible honor not just for me, but for my patients and colleagues at Levine Cancer Institute, who will benefit from the unwavering support that we receive from our partnership with the Lung Cancer Initiative,” said Mileham. “As a newly initiated member with the Board of Directors, I commit to doing all I can to improve the lives of patients and to offer them the best support, both physically and emotionally, while continuing to advance research and elevate treatments for patients with lung cancer.”
